Out the door at 5:45am for a nice run. Warm this morning. Temps 52 and just a slight breeze. Felt pretty good this morning. I think that I will strap the heart rate monitor on next run. My efforts seem easy compared to the pace that I am running. Break through???

Ran this evening. Nice day out. Legs a little tired. I think it has more to do with the shift work this week than anything else. Might try to get a long bike ride in tomorrow after work....

Ran afterwork on a windy afternoon. Went for a bike ride afterwoards. Tough 20 miler up the foothills and against the wind. I think that I will watch the US open championships. Love that tennis. Got a package from my son who is serving in Michigan today. Pictures and a mini cassatte tape. So good to hear from him. Even if it is just a tape.

Brrrrrrr. Must have been about 38 degrees or so this morning. Warmed up quickly. Ran up sunnyside for a good workout this morning. No breeze. Blackbirds were dive bombing this morning. Don't know what their problem was.

Had some extra time today. Rode the bike a hard 20 miiles through the foothills. Trying to get the legs  ready for a century ride later this fall. IF to West Yellowstone.

Had the day off today. Got up and ran before the kids went to  school. Cool morning. Legs felt pretty good. Bike ride later today. That could be interesting with the cool temps and wind expected.

Got out for a quick 4 mile run. Pace felt good. Legs felt ok. Road my bike 35 miles today also.

Ran at lunch at when I got home from work. When I got home we had a bad situation in our area. A young man in his late teens to early twenties lured two girls out of their home to look at some puppies. They were gone for an hour and without going into any details, they are home and safe and are doing as well as could be expected. the police are investigating and hopefully will make an arrest. What a horrible day. Lots of evil in the world.

I am a little dissapointed in my running the last couple of weeks. My mileage has stayed under 60 miles per week for some time now. Time to regroup and commit. Though I have been running consistently six days a week, I haven't been getting in that long run every 7 to 10 days.

Nice run this morning. Temps at 43 degrees. Ran with a golden retriever this morning. Hanna was found on the freeway between Pocatello and Fort Hall. My sister picked her up and gave her a bath and cleaned her up. We found the owners and they said that they would be over to pick her up. When they came over they saw how attached we were to the dog and Hanna had been getting out more and more lately, they were afraid that she would get hit one at some piont in time. So we now have two goldens. Hanky is 12 years old and arthritic and now Hanna who is 7. She ran well this morning for 2 miles before I took her back home and finished up. She is a little heavy but I can fix that. Nice to have a partner for those morning runs.

Nice run this morning. Pretty cool. Picked the pace up and felt really good. Bike ride to West Yellowstone looks like a go saturday. Only problem is I am going solo. My friends wife is having a baby and the due date is today....Hate to see him 50 miles away from home on a bike......

Ran later in the evening with Hanna (golden retriever) She made 3.5 miles before she started to rebel. Finished up after I brought her home.

Just some real easy miles today due to the bike ride to West Yellowstone tomorrow. Trying to map out the ride without too many altered routes. Lots of road construction. Don't want to add too many miles to the ride. It is 112 without detours...(*&(%^^&$#^^

Ok....You purists please don't judge me to harshly.I am putting down 30 easy miles due to my 112 mile bike ride today. I have read lots of conversions on biking to running and I don't normally log bike miles as run miles with those conversions, but with this ride I am going to do that. What a perfect day for it. Got to the Ashton hill in great shape. Felt beat after that though. Recovered nice after that.Enjoyed the flat and then the rollers. Maintained a good pace for the ride. 18.9 for the ride till I had to get up and over to West Yellowstone after riding 95 + miles! Anyway finished and got a ride home from a friend that works up that way. Time to wash the bike up. I believe that my training for this ride was below par. Not enough miles in the saddle. On the flip side I feel with what training I did Iam happy. Gorgeous scenery.

Okay, I know for sure that the swelling has gone down. Still sore but is making some gains. I think a solid week off....so maybe by saturday I will try some light running. The ibuprofen has made the stomach off a bit. Ice is my friend...Actually I have been sleeping with it! My wife has not objected to it. As long as it stays on my side of the bed.
