Goal Type:

Boston Qualifier

Running Accomplishments:

Completed 9 marathons with mixed results. 3:38 being the best out of the 9. It's been several years since I have participated in a marathon. Priorities and health have played a roll with racing the last few years. Hoping to get out and participate and have some fun.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Really want to race again. 5k's to the marathon. Love to qualify to run Boston at some point.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running and family balanced and be as fit as I can so I can run and play with the family.

Personal:

Happily married for some time......5 great kids that overachieve in whatever they choose to do.

Blog titile explanation: Been diagnosed with a brain tumor late 2013. With my lack of confidence in the medical field and just not feeling good about it......I will be running with my friend, "Tiny Tim" until further notice.

Temp around 52 or so..... no wind and lots of blue sky once the sun came out. Ran to work this morning. Just a slight bit of pain in the ankle after 6 miles so I cut the run a little short and went to work earlier. I might tape up along with the inserts tomorrow and see if that helps me go a little further. All in all I am pleased. Some muscle soreness in my lower legs and I believe that is from the orthotics. I think that they would drive me crazy if I walked in them. Running is just fine. Avg pace 8:15 for the run.

No ride home today so I decided to run....that was my only option. Pleasantly surprised on how the ankle felt. Pain free miles and felt ok.  Temps in the low 80's and a very nice breeze to help me tolerate the summer heat. Wow.... I might be in the 40's for mileage by the end of the week. Its about time!

Slowjoe & flat.... thanks for checking in. It seems like it has been forever to get back to consistent running. You guys have sure helped me stay motivated to keep plugging away at it. Baby steps tend to be the hardest thing. Thanks!

Glad to see that you are running mostly pain free, the time off and biking seems to have helped.

Keep training in a smart fashion and you will be back to full strength very soon.

Thanks Jeff, it's the patience thing that is so hard! It's all about longevity. I want to be doing this when I'm 80!
