Short-Term Running Goals:

Really want to race again. 5k's to the marathon. Love to qualify to run Boston at some point.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running and family balanced and be as fit as I can so I can run and play with the family.

Happily married for some time......5 great kids that overachieve in whatever they choose to do.

Blog titile explanation: Been diagnosed with a brain tumor late 2013. With my lack of confidence in the medical field and just not feeling good about it......I will be running with my friend, "Tiny Tim" until further notice.

66 degrees and no wind, and it was light outside when I started at 5am. Okay, I was on the treadmill this morning. We put it together last night and my kids got first dibs on it. So I thought I had better give it go this morning. The ifit is a nice feature and I plugged in my running route up sunnyside and down scenic dr and home. It adjusted to the elevation changes. avg pace 8:10

Ok...you had me on the first sentence. It doesn't get light here until 7:00. The Ifit sounds cool! I know a guy (he's an Iron Man) who has a similar set-up but also has a big screen TV where he can program in different routes and can actually see the route as he runs or bikes. He pretty much never gets out of his workout room. He actually has a lap pool for swimming too. Hope you enjoy the treamill, I actually like to run the treadmill sometimes because I feel I can control and push my pace and HR better than on the road. How's the ITB doing?

IJR Thanks for checking in. ITB is fine. It mush have been a wierd flare up or something. Ya, I can view my course too, only problem is that it is on a 7 inch screen. I'm with you.... seems like when I cycle I tend to push myself with the computer and try to hold speeds that other wise I wouldn't attempt. Good and bad I suppose.

That is a pretty cool feature for a TM - could it imitate a marathon course if you knew the route?

Nice conditions inside your house, too!

Joe, ya it's pretty awesome feature. You can certainly plug in any route and it adjusts the incline and decline (incline 15% decline-3%) according to the elevation of the course. It has some pre set routes and races which I haven't looked at, but according to the paperwork, yes. I ran my normal route up sunnyside and I could visually see the course and feel the incline. I am pretty excited about it due to the last two winters here. They were brutal!

Dang that is cool. Well, my treadmill has a little fan, so there!

Joe you have treadmill envy..... Not a good

thing!

Mine has two fans :-) so there doubled ... Oh but my wife won't let me use it since it's in the carpeted bedroom and my sweat slings everywhere when I run :-(

That's amazing! When I quit my job in 2008 to be a stay-at-home mom, I went off the grid for most electronics because we went on a budget.

I know I am soooooo far behind now! I don't have anything cool. I thought the iphone was amazing... However, now I'm more impressed by this treadmill you have!

When I return to work, I've got alot of catching up to do!

My wife and I chose that path also.... She is working part-time at a law office now. She quit her first job when our oldest daughter turned 6 weeks old. She just couldn't be away from her.(My daughter is 26) Its been a while since she has worked outside the home. Ya, the treadmill is pretty awesome. I saved some money the last couple of years to buy a bigger motorcycle but decided that this purchase would be a good investment during the winter months.

That is the coolest thing I ever heard of and a great solution for winter. Sorry your wife works in a law office.
