Running Accomplishments:

Completed 9 marathons with mixed results. 3:38 being the best out of the 9. It's been several years since I have participated in a marathon. Priorities and health have played a roll with racing the last few years. Hoping to get out and participate and have some fun.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Really want to race again. 5k's to the marathon. Love to qualify to run Boston at some point.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running and family balanced and be as fit as I can so I can run and play with the family.

Personal:

Happily married for some time......5 great kids that overachieve in whatever they choose to do.

Blog titile explanation: Been diagnosed with a brain tumor late 2013. With my lack of confidence in the medical field and just not feeling good about it......I will be running with my friend, "Tiny Tim" until further notice.

Decided to try some mile repeats today to see where my fitness level was at. Short recovery runs between them...... maybe half mile or so is what it looks like. 1mile warm up and then off...... 6:20 6:15 6:18 6:25 6:02. Don't let the last one fool you, it was down hill. All in all I felt okay. It has been a very up and down year for me, so I didn't expect much more than this.

Those are great mile repeats - in my humble opinion, definitely good enough to run 3:15 if you can get a good number of long runs in.

Joe .. Thanks. A few years ago I was about at the same fitness level and ran a marathon. I crashed after mile 23, so your theory is correct because that particular race I didn't have as many long runs in as I should have. I'll keep plugging away and see where I am in a couple of months. Thanks for the encouragement!
