Completed 9 marathons with mixed results. 3:38 being the best out of the 9. It's been several years since I have participated in a marathon. Priorities and health have played a roll with racing the last few years. Hoping to get out and participate and have some fun.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Really want to race again. 5k's to the marathon. Love to qualify to run Boston at some point.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running and family balanced and be as fit as I can so I can run and play with the family.

Personal:

Happily married for some time......5 great kids that overachieve in whatever they choose to do.

Blog titile explanation: Been diagnosed with a brain tumor late 2013. With my lack of confidence in the medical field and just not feeling good about it......I will be running with my friend, "Tiny Tim" until further notice.

Ran in breezy conditions. Still nice for what we have had. Feet got wet today due to the warm temps.

Well, got some bad news.... I had today off so I thought I would get some things done. So the ice along the gutters so I thought I would shovel some snow off the edge of the roof...no no, I didn't fall... well not on purpose. I decided to get off the roof by jumping into a pile of snow that was along our driveway. Yes it was a large pile of snow but not taking into the fact that it had warmed up a bit and the snow became compacted, it did not give like I thought it would. I have done something to my ribs. I am struggling to take a breath of air.... Didn't think I would miss a run from this!!! Hopefully just tweaked something and will only be sore for a day or two.

Yikes! Sounds like bruised or cracked ribs (which I've had). I wasn't a runner at the time though. Avoid twisting and stretching the painful spot if you can and keep it somewhat immobilized. That was my mistake when I had the injury. Good luck, hope you are back soon!

Thanks Joe .. I'm finding that I hurt just about everywhere. The neck, back, and those ribs. I live across the street from the elementary school so I did get some approval yells! It was just a stupid thing to do and now I'm paying for it.

I used to jump off our roof all the time when I was a kid! I'm glad I read your post though, because I am always tempted to do the same thing after I clean our gutters. Seems like it's almost more dangerous to climb down our gate. Hopefully it is just some soreness that will be gone in a day or two.

Just saw this, hope you are feeling better. So far I haven't fallen off my roof, but that's because I don't dare go up there anymore. Good luck.

thanks guys... Back and neck are feeling tons better. Wish I could say that about my ribs. I spoke to a nurse at church and she told me that it may be torn tissue between those lower ribs.

It is actually getting worse and I really don't know what to do! I am such an idiot! Oh the lessons we learn.
