Boston Qualifier

Running Accomplishments:

Completed 9 marathons with mixed results. 3:38 being the best out of the 9. It's been several years since I have participated in a marathon. Priorities and health have played a roll with racing the last few years. Hoping to get out and participate and have some fun.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Really want to race again. 5k's to the marathon. Love to qualify to run Boston at some point.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running and family balanced and be as fit as I can so I can run and play with the family.

Personal:

Happily married for some time......5 great kids that overachieve in whatever they choose to do.

Blog titile explanation: Been diagnosed with a brain tumor late 2013. With my lack of confidence in the medical field and just not feeling good about it......I will be running with my friend, "Tiny Tim" until further notice.

Congratulations, your kids are amazing. Which daughter is delivering your first grandchild?

Well, I can tell you that, even though I haven't met your daughters, they are proud of you too... and you may already know that.

My Dad is an athlete, too. He had two daughters. He played baseball at TCU in college and then he went on to be ranked as one of the top 5 best handball players in Texas. He's played handball all my life, even now... When I was in college at UT, he'd come in town to visit me and play handball with some of the UT handball team ... and BEAT THEM!

My Dad taught me how to be a champion just by example. I'm not as good of a runner as he was at his sports... but I don't give up and that makes me proud!

Rye, looking at what you did this week... your workouts, your times, your determination... Oh, yes, your daughters and all your children are proud... I'm sure more than they even can express! And the influence of what you do... it's going to have a lifetime effect on them.

Flat.... Thanks .... My oldest daughter Jaime, who is in Moscow Idaho getting her masters... She is my only married child. Right now she is 7 months pregnant and doing a 100 mile bike/camping trip with her husband. That child should be a healthy one!

TexasLindsey ... Wow! Thanks for your kind words..... one runner to another. Your dad must be quite a guy! The UT team probably didn't like to see your dad walk through the door:)
